It was recently National Cancer Survivors Day and for Michelle Stafford of The Young and the Restless, there is one particular cancer survivor who means the world to her and she wanted to make sure to pay tribute to the special person.

Michelle Stafford Honors Sister

The talented star and owner of her own business, Skin Nation, decided to do the honor via social media. She posted a stunning picture of her sister (beauty obviously runs in the family) on Instagram.

“My sis! Survivor of over 7 years! And counting!!!! @jjbakes3d #cancersurvivorsday #nationalcancersurvivorsday,” she wrote alongside the image in which she tagged Janine S. Baker. That sisterly support goes both ways. On Baker’s Instagram, she has a gorgeous shot with her actress sister helping her to promote her skincare line.

“#iamskinnation #skincare #skin #noallergies #feelingood #fun #proudsister #respect #begoodtoyourself #fantastic #beauty #beingfemale #female #skincaretips #survivor #cancersurvivor #happiness #family #love #support #goodtimes #positivity”

Sisterly love and support is a beautiful thing. It’s a shame her onscreen character doesn’t get to enjoy seeing her own sister, but perhaps once The Young and the Restless returns to production, there can be some hope that Avery (Jessica Collins) will one day return to Genoa City. That could certainly make life interesting for Nick (Joshua Morrow) now that he and Phyllis are back together.

The Young and the Restless History

YR made its debut in 1973 and introduced more sexual undertones and younger characters to daytime soap operas. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, four decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) family machinations to Paul Williams’ (Doug Davidson) heroism to the adorable love story of Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Lola (Sasha Calle), YR knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.

Bringing the Drama

It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), Days of our Lives (DAYS), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). YR airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
