Any parent who has ever seen their child injured can understand the frightening ordeal that The Young and the Restless star Melissa Ordway is going through, as her daughter Olivia needed to have emergency surgery on her arm.
Melissa Ordway: Devoted Mom
The actress posted an account of her experience on Instagram, explaining how an arm injury from earlier this summer wasn’t healing correctly, which required a trip to the ER.
“Not the way we wanted or expected to spend our day, but I couldn’t be more proud of Olivia’s spirit, bravery and strength,” Ordway wrote alongside some photos of her and Olivia at the hospital. “Her arm wasn’t healing the way doctors wanted so Olivia had to have emergency surgery this morning to repair her arm.”
Ordway also posted an adorable picture of her brave daughter in her hospital bed with one of her favorite dolls, letting everyone know that the little girl was doing well after the surgery.
“Thankful to the incredible team of doctors, nurses and everyone who helped fix her arm and make today as happy as it could be under the circumstances,” the actress wrote. “Olivia, you are the kindest soul, brightest light and my hero.”
Many of Ordway’s co-stars weighed in with support and love for mother and daughter.
Greg Rikaart (Kevin) sent some “super strength” Olivia’s way, while Christian Le Blanc (Michael), Eileen Davidson (Ashley), and Jason Canela (ex-Arturo) all chimed in with encouraging messages, as well. “Sending that little princess warrior all our love and strength,” Canela wrote.
A look at one of Ordway’s recent Instagram posts shows Olivia and her sister Sophie starting preschool, and the actress noted the kids were so ecstatic about going back and how impressed she was with how safe they made it all. We wish Olivia the best in getting back to school soon. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
