Loren Lott, who played Devon’s feisty music producer sister Ana Hamilton on The Young and the Restless, is in a New York state of mind. Not only that, but she’s also taking a walk down Memory Lane.
Loren Lott Treaded The Boards
While Ana is traipsing around the country being a music producer, music is also on Lott’s mind. She took to social media, posting to her Instagram account to share a favorite memory from her time on Broadway.
“My last Broadway show as Timoune in Once On This Island,” she wrote next to a video of her performing the song, “Ti Moune” with the characters Mama Euralie (Kenita Miller) and Tonton Julian (Phillip Boykin). “This song used to make me cry all the time.”
An original company member for the 2018 Tony-winning revival, Lott played a Storyteller while understudying Ti Moune, Asaka, and Andrea, eventually taking over the role of Ti Moune from Hailey Kilgore.
After her last show, Lott wanted to make sure the memory lasted forever, so she filmed her last day on stage.
“It’s the 2 year anniversary since I left New York and Broadway to pursue tv/film in LA,” Lott said. “I uploaded a YouTube video with my performances and behind the scenes of my last day. I was a mess… Go enjoy!”
Alex Newell, who starred as Asaka in Once on the Island, and is currently killing it as Mo on NBC’s Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, responded to her post with a playful, “Who is this American on this island??” and sent his love to his former co-star.
Y&R fans are glad Lott made the move as her character brought some fun to Genoa City. Just as she did with her last day on Broadway, she also documented her last day on the Y&R set on her YouTube page.
Lott’s other stage credits include Motown on Broadway and regional productions of Ragtime and Shrek.
“What a crazy journey it has been,” Lott said. “I miss Broadway shows. I can’t wait for them to come back and I can’t wait to go back some day.” The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
