Tricia Cast has a lot to celebrate, although things are not going well for her The Young and the Restless alter ego, Nina Webster, or rather for her son, Chance Chancellor. While she’s nursing her son back to health after a shooting, Cast is recognizing a far more pleasant occasion.

Happy Birthday, Tricia Cast

And that’s because she was born on November 16, 1966, in Medford, New York, which means that this beloved TV veteran is turning 57 years old today! Cast has been acting professionally since 1979, when she took on the role of Amanda Wurlitzer in the sitcom The Bad News Bears. Wurlitzer had been previously played by Tatum O’Neal in the same-titled 1976 film.

Afterward, Cast appeared in a number of made-for-TV movies, including The Ghosts of Buxley Hall (1980), Desperate Lives (1982), and Night Partners (1983), as well as episodes of primetime series such as It’s A Living (1981), and Little House on the Prairie (1981).

In 1984, Cast appeared in yet another short-lived sitcom, the Jason Bateman (Ozark) vehicle It’s Your Move, which she followed with guest spots on Mr. Belvedere (1985) and Simon & Simon (1985).

In 1985, she appeared in the daytime soap opera Santa Barbara as Christy Duvall. One year later, Cast accepted an offer to appear in a short-term role on The Young and the Restless, which was intended to raise awareness about black market baby dealers.

Her character, Nina Webster, proved endearing to the fans, so Cast was retained for yet another storyline — a love triangle between Nina, Phillip Chancellor, and Christine “Cricket” Blair (Lauralee Bell).

Even after the conclusion of that particular tale — which ended with Phillip supposedly perishing in a car accident (though he actually faked his death and fled the country) — Nina remained. And she did so as a front-burner character. Cast wound up staying on the program until 2001, nearly a full 15 years after her first appearance.

Since that time, Cast has reprised the part of Nina on numerous occasions, including guest stints in 2008 and 2014 and a more substantial run between 2009 and 2013 as well as 2021, and this year.
