Soap opera stories either crawl or fly by, meaning that sometimes we have to miss big developments. Never fear, Soap Hub is here to fill you in on what you missed last week on The Young and the Restless.
MIA
Summer (Hunter King) did her best to ignore her gut instinct that something untoward had happened to her mother but her rising suspicions couldn’t be hushed. First, she enlisted her dad’s help in trying to track Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and then she brought her concern to Devon (Bryton James), who allowed her to investigate her mom’s hotel room.
Finding Phyllis’s car keys was the final straw for Summer and she contacted Paul (Doug Davidson), who launched an official search after it was determined that someone had looped the hallway’s video recordings shielding them from catching any activity that happened outside Phyllis’s door.
Michael (Christian LeBlanc) wondered if perhaps his flame-haired gal pal had faked her own kidnapping unaware that his baby brother Kevin (Greg Rikaart) had her stashed away to use as a barging chip in his scheme to get Adam (Mark Grossman) to confess Chloe’s whereabouts. It’s just too bad that Adam (who did have Chloe) wasn’t interested in getting Phyllis back.
Surrender
Desperate to keep his company, Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) sought a loan from Jack (Peter Bergman), who had to admit that Jabot was cash poor and he didn’t have nearly enough cash in a personal account to help his friend.
Victor (Eric Braeden) also turned Nicholas down… but he did offer to re-hire he at Newman Enterprises.
Left with no other option, Nicholas met Adam at his office door and handed over the keys to the building. But he threatened to tear his scheming brother to shreds if he attempted to go near Christian.
Legacy
Victor’s first round of medication did little to fight his blood disorder so Niki insisted it was time to reveal his diagnosis to the rest of the family.
Nicholas, Adam, Victoria (Amelia Heinle), …continue reading on the next page —>
Nicholas, Adam, Victoria (Amelia Heinle), and Abby (Melissa Ordway) gathered in his office and Victor delivered the startling news.
Later, in a one on one with Adam, Victor tried to convince his youngest to take over the reins of the company but Adam refused. He told his father he wouldn’t be content with simply settling into someone else’s shoes and steering a company that he didn’t create.
Fantasy
Traci (Beth Maitland) was finding it much easier to cloak herself in her noir-tinted fantasy world than confront her burgeoning feelings for Cane (Daniel Goddard) in the real one.
She spent her time delighting Dina (Marla Adams) with excerpts from her novel and seemed to take her mothers desire to see Velma and Flynn (the fictional stand-ins for Traci and Cane) to heart.
However, she was disheartened to learn from Cane that his job may cause him to move further away from her and closer to his ex-wife Lily.
Quid Pro Quo
Adam finally acquiesced to a persistent Kevin’s proposal (Phyllis in exchange for Chloe) but with the added addendum that Kevin had to stay in town and be at Adam’s beck and call. Kevin agreed, but when he went to collect Phyllis he discovered that she had escaped!
