It truly seems like Jack saved Nikki’s life on The Young and the Restless. He shocked her so much by taking pills that even in her drunken state, Nikki managed to realize she had to stop what she was doing. That’s why it really hasn’t made sense why Victor is so ruthless in getting revenge on Jack. However, Victor’s portrayer, Eric Braeden, recently explained what’s going on in his alter ego’s mind.
Revenge
Despite Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) repeatedly telling Victor that Jack (Peter Bergman) helped her during her fall off the wagon, Victor is dead set on revenge. He intends to take Jack Abbott down…again…but perhaps, this time, once and for all. The question is, why would he do this if Jack really saved Nikki and she was able to get sober again after he risked his sobriety to get her attention?

Braeden recently discussed the situation with TV Line. “Victor gets even with people, and he has not forgiven that night of debauchery between Jack and Nikki [in May],” Braeden explained. “He thinks hanky panky went on, and Victor doesn’t forgive or forget that.”
Of course, we all know that there wasn’t any hanky panky, but it doesn’t seem as if Victor believes that. The good news for viewers, though, is that, even though Victor is getting even for an imagined sin, they’re treated to a clash of the Genoa City titans again.
Braeden noted, “Peter and I work well together as adversaries, and that’s another thing that either works or doesn’t work, and it works.”

Clash of the Titans
So far, Victor has finally gotten Chancellor since Jill (Jess Walton) agreed to sell it to them. He’d also seemingly successfully gotten Kyle (Michael Mealor) to side with him over Jack. Diane (Susan Walters) also went to help him, but of course, she and Jack were faking it.
The thing is, we don’t see how Victor didn’t realize Jack and Diane were faking their animosity because…well, he’s Victor. Victor is and always has been multiple steps ahead of everybody else. We suspect their faking was also rolled into Victor’s overall plan. What do you think? Will he get revenge for Jack’s imagined hanky panky with Nikki? Or, will Jack come out on top this time?
