Following the news of the non-televised National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awards presentations taking place, now comes word that the rescheduled 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards have an airdate.
CBS has announced that the Daytime Emmys will broadcast its 50th annual awards on CBS on Friday, December 15 at 9 p.m. ET/delayed PT. The show is slated to run for two hours.
The Daytime Emmys were originally set to air on Friday, June 16. The ceremony was postponed due to the Writers Guild of America Strike. After that strike ended, there was an additional delay because of the Screen Actors Guild strike. Even though soap opera actors fall under a different contract there were other nominees in non-soap opera categories that might not have been able to have attended the ceremony.
Now that the new agreement with SAG/AFTRA performers and producers has been tentatively settled, Hollywood is returning to business. The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be hosted by Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner. The ceremony will be broadcast from the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

“We are pleased to set this new date with CBS for the Daytime Emmys to celebrate our Golden Anniversary,” Adam Sharp, President and CEO, NATAS, says. “We know the loyal fans of daytime television have waited patiently to properly honor and recognize all of the deserving nominees, and we look forward to the celebration we have all been waiting for.”
