The Young and the Restless fans came up with a cunning theory. What if Aristotle Dumas isn’t Cane Ashby? What if he’s actually his twin brother, Caleb? The games will continue this week as Dumas’ identity comes to light. He could still be playing a cruel game.
Seeing Double
Aristotle Dumas revealed himself as Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). He left Genoa City in 2019. Cane looks a lot different these days. He’s also a different version of himself. Now, he’s a billionaire who isn’t what he seems. Yet, he’s still somewhat like the older version of Cane (ex Daniel Goddard), who used to con and manipulate people. After all, he used to pretend that he was his evil twin brother, Caleb.

This brought up a clever twist on the soap message boards. One fan wondered whether Cane is actually Caleb, which explains his different personality. “How do we know this is even Cane and not Caleb? Something is off with this ‘Cane,’ remember Caleb Atkinson, his evil twin brother, they unceremoniously killed off in 2011?”
Caleb died from a fatal gunshot wound. It was a case of mistaken identity. Caleb showed up in Genoa City to conspire with Blake Joseph (James Collier) to blackmail Cane. Yet, it was Caleb who was shot, instead of Cane. Most assumed that Cane had died. The truth eventually came out, and it was revealed that Caleb was deceased.

The Lying Game
Fans shared their thoughts on this cunning theory. Maybe Caleb was still alive, and he played a long game on everyone. However, some fans are tired of seeing double. “Uh, think we had enough twin stories. But hey, at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised at anything Y&R throws at us…” one user noted.
Still, other fans can’t stop thinking about Cane leaving town. He was in a relationship with Traci (Beth Maitland). One fan noted, “The last thing I remember of Cane was that he and Tracy were getting pretty close and then it was just over.” That same user noted they don’t “remember evil Caleb.” He was a blip on the radar, at least to some fans.
