Young and the Restless Star Courtney Hope Thinks a Sally and Billy Romance ‘Could Be Fun’

Courtney Hope’s character Sally has the worst luck with romance on The Young and the Restless. The fashion designer is single again after another breakup with Adam. But a new love interest is making their move on the redhead.

Goodbye Adam, Hello Billy

Sally thought her and Adam’s (Mark Grossman) reunion would be a sure thing, but he betrayed her again. Adam and Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) affair left Sally and Billy (Jason Thompson) brokenhearted.

Sally and Billy didn’t waste any time dumping their unfaithful partners. Since then, the two have become close as they commiserate over their breakups. On the Oct. 21 episode, things took an interesting twist for the new pals.

After a night of drinking at the jazz club, Billy escorted Sally back to her room at the GCAC. As they said their goodbyes, the two shared a drunken kiss.

The kiss seems to foreshadow a romance between Sally and Billy even though they agreed it was a mistake the next day. While fans are split on the new pairing, Hope supports her character’s new love interest.

“Sally’s never had just the easy path. It’s always like, oh, she’s happy? Oh, let’s mess it up!” Hope tells Soaps In Depth. “I feel like sometimes it’s just by her choices in men in general. But I mean, it could be an interesting pairing for sure. Yeah, he is like Adam, but it could be fun to see what that looks like.”

Sally and Billy’s romance would definitely create drama in Genoa City. The new couple would spark Adam’s jealousy and fuel his feud with Billy.

Of course, Chelsea could still be an obstacle. Despite her pleas for forgiveness and another chance, Billy rejected her. Although upset, she accepted Billy’s decision and left him alone. But she might break her promise after seeing Sally and Billy together.

Billy’s other ex-girlfriend, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), is someone else to watch. Phyllis was annoyed when Billy canceled their work meeting to make time for Sally. With Phyllis and Billy working together, old feelings are bound to resurface. So, with Sally and Billy getting cozy, Phyllis will be scheming to break them up.

There’s a lot of potential for a Sally and Billy romance. Fans will have to stay tuned to see how this storyline plays out.
