Who’s coming and who’s going from the soap opera casts of The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), Days of our Lives (DAYS), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR)?
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.
Hollis W. Chambers pops back in as Paul on The Bold and the Beautiful on Thursday, December 16. The character is the staff member at Il Giardino, who offered Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) a gig on the restaurant’s crew.
The show’s winter promo clip revealed that Greg Vaughan is heading home to Salem – and he’s wearing a priest collar. Vaughan last appeared as Eric Brady back in July of 2021.
Meanwhile, the Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas movie, which will stream on Peacock, will include a few of the soap opera’s fan favorites. On the list are Eileen Davidson as Kristen DiMera, Chandler Massey as Will Horton, Zach Tinker as Sonny Kiriakis, and Greg Rikaart as Leo Stark.
Also, Evelyn Stephenson will make her debut as Sydney DiMera in the Peacock special. The character is Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) and EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feuerriegel) daughter.
A pair of fan favorites are headed back to General Hospital. Lexi Ainsworth, who plays Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Alexis Davis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) daughter, Kristina, shared an Instagram photo from her daytime dressing room along with the message, “She’s back,” Ainsworth made her last appearance in September when Sonny returned from the “dead.”
Constance Towers is also reportedly back at the show’s studio taping an episode of the soap opera as the late Helena Cassadine, according to a Facebook page for the actress. It’s likely a flashback scene. The character last aired in February 2020 as a vision to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
Zakary Risinger has taken over the role of Danny Morgan. He replaces Porter Fasullo, who had portrayed Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) son since 2019.
Joe Nieves has been playing Silva, the guard at Laura Spencer Collins (Genie Francis) and Martin Grey’s (Michael Knight) safe house. Also, Lisa Catar popped in as the fake maid, who tried to kill Martin.
Over at The Young and the Restless, there are more deets about Melissa Claire Egan’s return as Chelsea Lawson. Her first airdate is Tuesday, December 14, when the character turns up at the Newman house. She will immediately share scenes with Melody Thomas Scott’s Nikki, Eric Braeden’s Victor, and Mark Grossman’s Adam.
Y&R is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives (DOOL), General Hospital (GH), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
