Shick Vs Phick: June 25 Young and the Restless Triangle That Won’t Stop

When Nick and Sharon relived their love story last Friday for Joshua Morrow’s 30th anniversary on The Young and the Restless, we saw some of the Shick vs. Phick moments. We thought that it was probably just reminiscing. However, on the June 25 episode, Sharon talked a bit with Faith about that time, and later, she had a shocked reaction to seeing Nick and Phyllis holding hands at Crimson Lights. Now, we think perhaps Y&R plans to revisit this love triangle.

Been There, Done That

It’s been a bit of a theme with Y&R lately. For instance, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford, who took fans on an adventure), Christine (Lauralee Bell), and Danny (Michael Damian) just revisited their past love triangle. No matter how hard Phyllis tried, Danny chose Christine.

Not all that long ago, there was even some of this when Diane (Susan Walters) returned, and she and Jack (Peter Bergman) grew closer again. Phyllis struggled mightily with it, and we saw many flashbacks where the women both vied for Jack’s heart decades ago. It all led to Phyllis faking her death to frame Diane, which led to Stafford winning a Daytime Emmy.

Now, it does seem as if the show is going to more fully revisit the triangle from years ago that resulted in Summer (Allison Lanier) when Nick and Phyllis got together after Cassie’s (Camryn Grimes) death. Interestingly, the show also had Sharon run into Daniel (Michael Graziadei), who was blamed for Cassie’s death. Daniel also featured heavily in Phyllis’s most recent love triangle revisit. Will he feature in this one as well? Perhaps.

Ever since Phyllis helped Sharon during her breast cancer a few years back, they’ve seemed to have a truce. With Sharon struggling to get her bipolar medication correct, Phyllis feeling at loose ends without a job, and Nick being single, this could be something big.
