Sharon has undergone lots of trauma recently on The Young and the Restless. From being drugged to framed for murder to kidnapped, she’s been put through the wringer. One would assume playing one traumatic storyline after another would be exhausting for an actor. However, it’s the opposite for Sharon Case.
Having A Blast
Case has been front and center on Y&R the past few months. Her character Sharon was a victim of Ian (Ray Wise) and Jordan’s (Colleen Zenk) evil plan. The duo tampered with Sharon’s meds, framed her for Heather’s (Vail Bloom) murder, and kidnapped her.
When Ian and Jordan met their deadly end, Sharon thought that was the end of her ordeal. However, her troubles were just beginning.
She and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) were kidnapped and held hostage in an abandoned psychiatric facility. The two were rescued in the nick of time as a gas leak filled the room.
Sharon hasn’t had a moment’s rest in months. While the character might still be on edge from her ordeals, Case is loving the storylines.
In an interview with Soaps In Depth, the actress revealed that she’s enjoying Sharon’s current creative direction.
”Oh, my gosh. You know what? I’ve been saying for a long time I wanted to do more action, and I had mentioned things like Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and this is kind of that way, except it was Sharon and Phyllis, so I kind of got my wish there,” Case explained. “But I loved doing that kind of thing. The path that Josh [Griffith, Y&R headwriter and executive producer] has had Sharon on between Heather’s murder and then this, it has been really up my alley.”
As for what’s ahead for Sharon, Case is uncertain on that part.
”Going forward, I don’t know…I mean, I’d be happy to continue on this path, but I’m sure Josh will come up with something to top this next. He seems to be loaded with great ideas of this sort lately.”
Whatever’s in store for Sharon, Case is happy to play it out. Hopefully, fans will like her next storyline too.
