Jeanne Cooper, who played the beloved Katherine Chancellor on The Young and the Restless from 1974 until her death in 2013, would have turned 89 today.
The anniversary of her birth has not been forgotten, especially by her son, Corbin Bernsen, who took to social media to pay tribute to his late mom.
“You are loved [and] remembered no less today than your days on earth,” wrote Bernsen, who recurs on Y&R as Paul’s brother Father Todd.
Cooper relished playing the role of Mrs. C, earning the adoration of millions of fans and two Daytime Emmys (and many nominations) along the way. The actress’ first statue was a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. Her second came for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2008.
A cardboard life-sized cutout of Cooper stands in the Y&R makeup room today.
Soap Hub joins Bernsen and Cooper’s family and friends in remembering this special lady not only today, her birthday, but every day.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
