Redding Munsell has endeared himself on The Young and the Restless since his debut on the show earlier this year as Harrison Abbott. While his scenes have mostly been relegated to taking place in the Abbott mansion, it’s clear that the daytime newcomer has been exploring other parts of the Y&R stages.
Redding Munsell May Become a ‘New Man’
In a recent Instagram story, Munsell hopped into the seat that normally belongs to Victor Newman, played by Eric Braeden, in the Newman executive’s office. “Just call me Mini-Newman,” read a playful caption on the story. “Hold my calls! I’m filming!” Munsell appeared right at home in the power seat, and as most Y&R characters end up going into business, perhaps Harrison himself will someday be sitting there.
Of course, that will take some doing as Redding’s character is tied by blood to the Abbott clan — not the Newman family. Still, there have been plenty of musical chairs when it comes to the world of business in Genoa City as evidenced by Kyle, Harrison’s dad, alliance with Victor.
This is quite a way off, but Y&R will someday, we imagine, Y&R will age up all these characters, and they’ll be driving storylines in the future. Who knows what ties writers will create between Harrison and Newman offspring that could result in the young man sitting in Victor’s seat for real!
Munsell joined Y&R last spring. The show tossed the newcomer into the deep end when Harrison was kidnapped by unbalanced Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk, ex-Barbara, As the World Turns), a woman who has the uncanny ability to outmaneuver prison guards and private security teams.
Harrison managed to be rescued from Aunt Jordan’s clutches. The youngster does not harbor any ill will towards Claire (Hayley Erin), Jordan’s niece. In fact, his fondness for her has create strife between his parents, Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Allison Lanier).
