Proof That Sharon Is Likely Innocent On Young and the Restless November 20

Sharon is so convinced that she’s guilty of Heather’s murder on The Young and the Restless that she confessed to the crime. First to Nick, then to Chance. Now, on the November 20 episode, she admitted it to Daniel straight to his face, and she continued to insist she was guilty as she talked to her lawyer, Michael. But we know something Sharon doesn’t know. We know exactly why she couldn’t possibly be guilty.

Red Herring

Sure, now that Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and Ian (Ray Wise) have popped up in Genoa City, twirling their metaphorical mustaches and cackling about how they’re going to get those Newmans good, the obvious assumption is that they’re responsible for Heather’s (Vail Bloom).

Sharon just kept passing out at the most inopportune moments. Over and over again. But that’s what The Powers That Be want us to think. That assumption may be fine for the casual or new soap fan, but we long-term veteran fans know better. We know that Jordan and Ian aren’t the proof that Sharon (Sharon Case) isn’t guilty, they’re just the reason.

Long Time Precedent

The one hundred percent for sure incontrovertible reason why Sharon didn’t do the things she just confessed to doing is…that she just confessed to doing it. No one on soaps who confesses is ever guilty. No one on soaps who goes on trial is ever guilty. That’s just now how soap towns work.

On soaps, the best way to prove that you didn’t do what you were accused of doing is to be accused of doing it and then stand trial for it. Even being judged guilty is just one more notch in the “they’re really innocent” column. Heck, on Days of Our Lives, Sami (Alison Sweeney) made it all the way to the gas chamber before the truth was revealed. But we knew as soon as she was sentenced that it couldn’t possibly be her now.

A Matter of Time

Sure, Michael (Christian Le Blanc) can point to Sharon’s medication, and Nick (Joshua Morrow) can note that Sharon doesn’t actually remember killing Heather. But we know neither of those excuses is as good as…she confessed, so she must be innocent. Just wait and see!
