Phyllis’ Vows A New Beginning On Young and the Restless January 3, But Will She?

Phyllis made a New Year’s resolution on the January 3 episode of The Young and the Restless. She told Daniel and Summer that all her poor choices needed to stay in the past. This vow came after she admitted that Sharon wasn’t the driver who caused her to crash. Of course, Daniel and Summer were skeptical, and so are we.

New Year, New Phyllis

Can Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) really change? She certainly seemed resolved as she told Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Summer (Allison Lanier) that it would kill her if she kept obsessing over Sharon (Sharon Case).

Phyllis had a difficult time saying she would let things work out even if Michael (Christian Le Blanc) and Chance (Conner Floyd) investigated further and proved she was wrong about Sharon. Of course, Phyllis said she wasn’t over the fact that Sharon set up Daniel for Heather’s (Vail Bloom) murder, no matter what was going on with Sharon at the time. She promised to always protect her family. Ultimately, Daniel and Summer decided to believe Phyllis’ resolve and declared they were proud of her.

Of course, just as soon as Phyllis declared she would turn over a new leaf, Ian (Ray Wise) and Jordan (Colleen Zenk) cooked up a plan to murder Sharon and send her off the bridge into the river in the same place that Sharon dumped Heather’s body, attempting to frame Daniel for the murder. They thought that would be poetic justice.

Of course, it doesn’t line up with what Phyllis told Daniel and Summer, but most people in Genoa City would certainly believe that Phyllis went that far for revenge. It looks like Phyllis’ New Year’s resolution for 2025 might end up in flames before the year even starts…even though she probably won’t be the one responsible for breaking it.

What do you think Phyllis will do? The fact that nobody will believe her if/when Ian and Jordan follow through with their plan will likely send her spiraling once again.
