Viewers of The Young and the Restless are in for a treat. The CBS daytime drama is going all out for its 13,000th episode coming up next month.
Out Of The Ashes
Deadline reported that the iconic set will be the location of Y&R’s big milestone it seems. The new set’s unveiling moved Eric Braeden (Victor) to tears. Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) also had a few tears in her eyes after touring the new Newman ranch.
Viewers will remember that Sharon (Sharon Case) burned down the ranch in 2012. Now, Victor had the original home rebuilt, and Nikki will learn this on November 8.
Josh Griffith, head writer and executive producer, told the publication, “The Newman Ranch burning down was an emotional story for the Newmans, but it was not lost on us that the Newman family and Genoa City just weren’t the same without Victor and Nikki’s original home. We’ve discussed bringing the set back for many years, and decided that its return around Y&R’s 13,000th episode would be perfect timing to help celebrate this incredible milestone as well as the legacy of Victor and Nikki. I must give special thanks to Y&R’s art department and stage crew who went above and beyond in executing the return of one of Y&R’s most iconic sets.”

Thomas Scott was thrilled to see the piano and her desk in the correct place. Plus, she pointed out the staircase. Braeden recalled how his Victor used to carry Nikki up those steps in the past. Of course, we don’t expect to see that happening again, but the memories are wonderful.
Be sure to tune in on November 13 to see the 13,000th episode of this iconic daytime drama. Hopefully, Sharon will not end up setting it on fire again this time. She is struggling with her mental health, but perhaps she will get the help she needs without this beautiful set ending up in flames again.
