Michelle Stafford and her The Young and the Restless castmates have always been close. However, it was this world event that helped strengthen their bond.

Key Takeaways

  • The Y&R cast has become Stafford’s second family.
  • The actress reveals the pandemic impacted the cast’s relationships.
  • Stafford says that she and her castmates are closer than ever.

We Are Family

While Stafford’s character Phyllis is always antagonizing and ruining her relationships, in real-life, it’s the opposite for the actress. Offscreen, Stafford has a close relationship with her castmates.

Although the Y&R cast has always been a tight group, 2020 was a year that brought them closer. In the year of the COVID-19 pandemic, places were shut down and people were told to stay home as the virus spread. The regulations and changes in the world impacted many people, including Stafford.

In an interview with The Kelly Alexander Show, the actress revealed how the pandemic helped her and her castmates grow closer. “I’m trying to keep myself together, but I’ll tell you to go through a pandemic with these guys. What we all went through with each other, um, it just makes me cry because it was a lot,” an emotional Stafford spoke.

Stafford went on to explain that it was a trying time for everyone, but the experience strengthened bonds with the Y&R family. “Everybody had their own story during that time, and it was really hard and everybody…like the fans, connecting to normalcy, so do we. And I know that we’re not a family by blood or by law, but we are a family.”

Back To Normal

The pandemic was a chaotic time for Stafford and the Y&R cast when production was shut down in March 2020. But after a four-month hiatus, the show was back in production, implementing guidelines to keep the cast and crew safe. Although the cast had to follow certain guidelines, including distancing rules, it was a joy for Stafford and her co-stars to be back to work.

Six years later, everything has returned to normal post pandemic. As for Stafford’s relationship with her Y&R family, they’re closer than ever.

Stafford loves her Y&R family just as much as they love her. The actress’ social media is filled with posts praising her co-stars or goofing around with them on set. When they’re not working, Stafford and her castmates often hang out away from the studio.

While Stafford’s is adored by her castmates, the same can’t be said for her character. Phyllis’ behavior continues to rile up Genoa City, earning her more enemies.
