Phyllis Summers isn’t the only popular redhead in the life of Michael Damian, who plays Danny on The Young and the Restless. The talented actor/musician/producer has produced the Netflix movie Irish Wish, which stars Lindsay Lohan.
Making An Irish Wish
Irish Wish is what Maddie (played by Lohan, who played Allie Fowler on Another World), a book editor, makes. She’s looking for love more than ever after making the error of introducing her best friend to the man she loves. Maddie embarks on a journey of self-discovery and love in which she is the lead player, not the people for whom she writes and edits behind the scenes.
“Irish Wish is about a young woman who doesn’t have confidence in herself,” explains Damian who produced the film. Damian’s wife Janeen Damian directed the movie, which is filmed on location in Cliffs of Moher, County Clare, Ireland. “Maddie’s never told the person she’s in love with how she feels. She wishes she’d spoken up and told him. It seems like it’s too late. Then, she makes a wish, and her dream comes true.”
Or does it? The movie dives into what a person’s true dream in life is. “You have to be careful what you wish for,” Damian offers. Despite this thought-provoking message, the filmmaker assures viewers that Irish Wish is “a fun romp. A fun story. You get the chance to do the thing you’ve absolutely always wanted to but it turns out that what’s in front of you might be even better. Love will find its way.

“Maddie has to believe in herself,” Damian continues. “That’s what this journey is all about. We hope people will laugh and enjoy it and that it will inspire them that this is what life is all about. Make that wish!”
Damian, who has a song, “Wild Irish Heart,” in the movie, and his wife have collaborated on several films together. A recent collaboration, A Paris Christmas Waltz, won a MovieGuide Award earlier this month. “That was awesome,” the actor says. “Janeen and I have great synergy. It all stems from loving what you do. I love moviemaking and storytelling. Being back on Y&R has helped me as a filmmaker and helped me understand storytelling even more.”
Irish Wish stars Lohan along with Alexander Vlahos (Paul), Ed Speleers (James), Elizabeth Tan (Emma), and Jane Seymour (Rosemary; Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman) The movie is available now on Netflix and is being shown in select theaters.
