The Young and the Restless' Melissa Ordway shared a major change in her life with fans.
Change is important for the survival of the soap opera. Keeping up with the times, doing stories that haven’t been done before, and changing set designs are ways daytime serials reinvent themselves to stay relevant. The actors can also change their look, especially if they’ve had the same one for a long time, and The Young and the Restless star Melissa Ordway just made a big change.
Ordway, who plays Abby on Y&R, has been sporting long golden locks for quite some time. But, recently she wrote on Instagram, “Sometimes you just need to change it up a bit ✨🪄. She shared a video of her and hair stylist Christine Pasqualone first showing off her long hair, then with a flash Ordway’s hair was short.
She continued with the praise, “Thank you for always making my hair dreams come true [Christine Pasqualone] 💛.” Co-star Amelia Heinle (Victoria) eagerly responded, “Did you?????? That’s sooooo gorgeous !!! I’m so jealous !! You look so so beautiful.” Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) chimed in with, “SOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

While many of her followers had an opinion on how she could tweak her new hairstyle, the love from her costars continued to roll in. “LOVE IT !!” wrote Hayley Erin (Claire), while Lauralee Bell shared several Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes emojis.
Other castmates including Bryton James (Devon) and Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe) poured on the love with several more emojis, and Eileen Davidson (Ashley) exclaimed, “Fantastic!!!!”
The responses weren’t just limited to Y&R cast members as General Hospital’s Kate Mansi (Kristina) replied, “🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Love this for you.” Another GH star, Emily Wilson (Ellie), couldn’t help but write, “Omg, you did it!!!!! I loooovvvvveeeee!!!!!!!! 😍❤️🔥.”
Her friends and fans overwhelmingly loved her new do with one gleefully replying, “What?! Wow! 😮 It’s gonna take some getting used to. Ok, I love it!”
We can’t help wonder if this means that Y&R filmed Abby and Devon’s wedding already. It seemed like Eric Braeden (Victor) recently shared BTS moments from what could’ve been the big day for Ordway’s character.
