Young and the Restless Star Melissa Claire Egan Celebrates Huge Milestone

The Young and the Restless’ Chelsea, played by Melissa Claire Egan, is going through a serious ordeal with her son Connor’s OCD. (Read our exclusive interview with Judah Mackey about Connor’s condition here.) In real-life, however, fortunately, Egan is experiencing nothing but joy as a mother. She recently celebrated a big mom milestone and Soap Hub has the details.

Mother’s Day

“Baby Jake! Jake Joseph. We can’t believe you are 1 today,” Egan shared on Instagram on her second son’s first birthday! “You came into this world a month early, 10 days in the NICU, you were and are such a fighter and strong little boy. Every time you lock eyes with someone, you smile. You’re a true little angel and bring everyone such joy. We love you so much, Happy Birthday my baby.”

Egan shared the news of Jake’s birth a year ago, which Soap Hub reported. “Meet Jake Joseph Katrosar!” Egan posted. “Born 7/14/23. Welcome to the world sweet boy. A few weeks early, but we’re so happy to have you and call you ours and love you forever!” Jake joined big brother Caden Robert Katrosar, who was born in 2021. Dad to both boys is Egan’s husband, Matt Katrosar, who once played both Chelsea’s kidnapper and a paramedic on Y&R!

Egan’s daytime pals flooded her Instagram post with well-wishes. “Does he need another grandma?” asked Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis, General Hospital), who recently connected with Egan at her Daytime Unites benefit to raise awareness and funds for ALS.

“Love this face. Love you. Happy Birthday to your baby!” wrote Rebecca Budig (ex-Hayden, GH), who appeared on All My Children as Greenlee when Melissa Claire Egan was Annie on that show. Fellow mom and Y&R co-star Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) shared her thoughts by posting four consecutive red-heart emojis.
