Lily Brooks O’Briant, who brings Lucy to life on The Young and the Restless, is channeling her passion for giving back into an unforgettable night for a cause that’s deeply personal. On Thursday, May 29, she’ll take the stage at the legendary Troubadour in West Hollywood, not just as a performer, but as the driving force behind Daytime at Night – A Benefit for St. Jude. The young entertainer recently sat down with Soap Hub to discuss all that went into making this benefit happen.

St. Jude Advocate

“I’ve been a huge advocate for St. Jude since, honestly, since I can remember,” O’Briant told Soap Hub. “I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, where their hospital is located, and I’ve seen firsthand the incredible things St. Jude does for families and for the kids being treated.”

What started as a conversation with her mom quickly turned into a full-scale, soap-star-studded concert. “I was thinking about the next St. Jude event I could put on, and I was like, how fun would it be to get the soap opera and daytime community together?” she said. “I honestly don’t remember the last time I saw an event like that.”

From DM’ing actors on Instagram to connecting performers through friends like Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea, Y&R) and Karla Mosley (Dani, Beyond The Gates) as well as Y&R’s publicist, Matt Kane, O’Briant’s dedication has brought together talent from Y&R, General Hospital, Days of our Lives, The Bold and the Beautiful, and BTG. “Everyone has been so supportive and excited to get together for an amazing night.”

Confirmed performers include Tabyana Ali (Trina, GH), Bradford Anderson (Spinellis, GH), Elia Cantu (Jada, DAYS), Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea, Y&R), Carolyn Hennesy (Diane, GH), Josh Kelly (Cody, GH), Loren Lott (Ana, Y&R), Karla Mosley (Dani, BTG), Annika Noelle (Hope, B&B), Lily Brooks O’Briant (Lucy, Y&R), Nathan Owens (Holden, Y&R), and fan-favorite The Day Players: Carson Boatman (Johnny, DAYS), Wally Kurth (Justin, DAYS; Ned, GH), Brandon Barash (Stefan, DAYS), and Eric Martsolf (Brady, DAYS).  Additional performers to be announced.

“This night is about coming together to give back,” O’Briant said. “As performers, we are honored to use our voices in a way that helps bring hope to children and families who need it most.”

As for how she picked the event’s iconic location, O’Briant told us it’s been a favorite venue of hers, and she performed there (see her recent performance here). She felt thrilled to be able to get the venue for such a great cause.

Tickets are available now, and all proceeds support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. O’Briant also noted that for fans who aren’t able to attend, there will be a way to support the cause even from afar. More details on that will come as the event gets closer.
