CBS continued to show confidence in The Young and the Restless alum Justin Hartley and his new Sunday night drama, Tracker. The network gave the first-year scripted drama the recent sweet post-Super Bowl slot. And now it’s handed out an early renewal. It’s a bit of a no-brainer considering the series has racked up great numbers since it premiered after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 25 – 22. In fact, Tracker is the most-watched new show on broadcast television.

Justin Hartley: Tracker Secures Second Season

The season two renewal came after the fourth episode of the drama aired. CBS executives were likely excited by the show’s strong and steady performance. According to Deadline, the drama is averaging nearly 16 million mutli-platform viewers, which includes airings on CBS and Paramount+.

Once the good news hit the trades, the This is Us alum celebrated his show’s season two renewal with an Instagram post. In it, he showed his immense gratitude to Tracker fans, saying, “Thanks to all of you for watching us. Sticking around for another season thanks to you. Lots of thrills to come!”

Congratulating Hartley in the comments were former co-stars from many of his projects, including Sterling K. Brown and Chrissy Metz from This is Us, Eric Martsolf from Passions (and now Days of our Lives, Brady), as well as Melissa Claire Egan and Greg Rikaart from Y&R. DAYS stars Greg Vaughan and Brandon Barash also expressed excitement for the actor.

On Sunday nights on CBS, Hartley stars as Colter Shaw, a man who calls himself a rewardist. This term means he’s a lone-wolf survivalist who sometimes collects reward money helping private citizens find missing friends and family. In the process, he has to deal with locals not necessarily enthused to meet him plus local law enforcement. While he often travels the country alone, he does have a network of people he turns to for help and intel. The series is based on the bestselling novel The Never Game, by Jeffery Deaver.

On Sunday, March 17, look for Hartley’s real-life wife, Sofia Pernas (ex-Marisa, Y&R), to guest star on Tracker in an episode called “St. Louis.”

Soap Hub would like to congratulate Justin Hartley on CBS renewing the second season of Tracker.
