Jessica Collins isn’t on The Young and the Restless any longer, but the Daytime Emmy-winner plays a soap opera star on Acapulco on Apple TV, set to return in May. Sadly, the actress is sharing her emotions over the loss of a dear loved one.

Loving Lucy

“Today is one year since you went over the Rainbow Bridge,” Collins shared on Instagram along with a series of photos of her beloved dog, Lucy. “We miss you everyday my little one. And for all of you beautiful people who have sent me prayers and love over the past year about my Lucy – I’ve read every single one of your comments. And it has helped me enormously through this most difficult loss. I think whenever we use this platform in this way- to help each other- we use it at its best. Thank you for all your kindness.”

Collins’ Y&R pals are among those who are sending warm wishes. Many of them have gone through similar losses. “Sweet Lucy,” shared Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea), who recently lost her beloved dog, Sophia. “Sweet Lucy. She will always be with you and your angel!” Tracey Bregman (Lauren) shared her love with three heart emojis. Bregman recently shared a story about her late horse, Ovi.

Others chimed in with positive vibes and memories of their own four-legged pals. “I’m sorry about your sweet doggie Lucy. It’s the hardest thing to go through—as I am just finding out,” wrote Instagram follower crusindiva77. “I just lost my sweet Briley, my mini dachshund, February 10th, and we are devastated! Your Lucy was so cute.”

“I’m so sorry for your loss,” Collins compassionately replied. “Your Briley will always be with you.”

“She was such a special girl! I will always remember when you came to pick her up, and the two of you had an instant connection,” shared follower mirandalouise. Collins said: “Thank you. She was my first dog, and I knew nothing. Your mom was there for me every step of the way! I’ll always remember her kindness to Lucy and me.”
