 Comments

Billy and Sally never made much sense to us on The Young and the Restless. We saw little chemistry. We only saw two people furious with their ex-partners for cheating on them, determined to prove that what’s good for the goose is also good for the gander—and vice versa. But on the January 15 episode, we saw something more. We saw exactly what will bring Sally and Adam back together.

Center of the Universe

First, Billy (Jason Thompson) lectured Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) on why she shouldn’t reunite with Adam (Mark Grossman). Billy didn’t listen to anything Chelsea said about it being for Connor (Judah Mackey), and not a romantic relationship, at all.

Trust him, Chles. Billy knows your mind better than you do. Just like Billy knows what’s best for you better than you do. The point is: Adam = Bad. Just say no.

Check-In

Next, Billy wanted to know all about Sally’s (Courtney Hope) conversation with Adam. He assured Sally he wasn’t mad at her about it. She can talk to whomever she wants. Billy isn’t the controlling type. Not like Adam. (Remember, Adam = Bad.)

Billy then filled Sally in on all the stupid things he planned to do shortly. Things both Lily (Christel Khalil) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) had already called out as stupid. Billy told Sally that he would go after Victor (Eric Braeden) by using his family members.

Which family members? Billy’s own children, Johnny (Paxton Mishkind) and Katie (Sienna Mercuri)? Yeah, we doubt that. We suspect Sally is right. Billy is going to go after Adam.

Stuck in the Middle With You

Right now, Sally thinks she’s prepared to stand by her man. But we know Billy. Billy never knows when to stop. Billy always goes too far. Billy will go too far with Adam. And Sally will feel obliged to step in.

Sally will tell herself it’s for Billy’s sake. That she’s protecting him from his worst impulses. This isn’t about Adam. It will be about Adam. And, even if it’s not, Billy will see it that way. And that will be the end of Sally and Billy. And it will put Sally back where she belongs.
