How Summer Can Influence Chance’s Young and Restless Investigation

Daniel wasn’t thrilled with the idea of Chance searching his and Heather’s apartment on The Young and the Restless. Phyllis talked him into going along with it on the October 15 episode. Phyllis is good at getting people to do what she wants them to do. Summer is, too. Which is why we’re wondering what will happen when Chance turns up evidence that implicates Daniel in Heather’s death. And neither Phyllis nor Summer is happy about it…

Mother’s Milk

Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) has always been skilled at manipulating Summer (Allison Lanier). Summer learned all sorts of things from her mom (except how to ignore her manipulation). So when Chance (Conner Floyd) begins to think that Daniel is responsible for Heather’s murder, we can see Phyllis being unhappy about it. And manipulating Summer into manipulating Chance to pin the crime on someone else. But who….?

Look Around, Look Around

It’s not that Phyllis and Summer want someone innocent to pay for Heather’s (Vail Bloom) killing. But someone guilty of… something? That’s a different story. Let’s think of the people Phyllis and Summer dislike. There’s Sharon (Sharon Case). Phyllis would love for Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) ex to be removed from his… er, her… life. But we doubt Summer would do that to her brother and sister. We know Summer would like Kyle (Michael Mealor) to receive a comeuppance. But not to the point of putting her son’s father in prison. Phyllis would enjoy framing Diane (Susan Walters). But had she ever even met Heather? That would be a bit of a stretch.

Man of the Hour

And then there’s Billy (Jason Thompson). Summer and Billy have a fraught history. Phyllis may be loyal to him now, but what if Billy follows Jill’s (Jess Walton) edict and doesn’t hire Daniel? What if he even fires Phyllis? Then she’ll want to get revenge. And you know who else currently wants revenge on Billy? Chance. Chance quit Abbott-Chancellor, his family company, because of Billy. So, how hard would it be for Summer to convince Chance to look closer at Billy? Maybe he was the one Heather was having a secret affair with….?
