Phyllis is a complete lunatic. She taunts, she yells, she lies, she threatens, she gloats, and she foams at the mouth. Everything she says is ridiculous, deluded, and self-serving. And yet, on the February 26 episode of The Young and the Restless, Phyllis was the only person making any sense, especially where Cane was concerned.
Key Takeaways.
- Phyllis hates Cane buckling to Victor’s threats.
- Phyllis won’t help him do it.
- Phyllis understands Victor has no leverage.

Speaking Truth to Power
Cane (Billy Flynn) tried to threaten Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) into returning Newman Enterprises to Victor (Eric Braeden) so that Victor would stop holding Lily (Christel Khalil) and his twins hostage. Phyllis refused.
Cane upped his threats, then pleaded desperation. Phyllis held her ground. Because she is the only one who seems not to have lost her mind over this.
Practical Magic
Phyllis finally said what everybody else was thinking: VICTOR IS NOT GOING TO HARM LILY, MATTIE, OR CHARLIE. Not just because Lily is Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) daughter. Not just because Victor is a saint who would never do anything bad, anyway. BUT BECAUSE IF VICTOR WERE TO HARM LILY, HE WOULD ALIENATE NIKKI (MELODY THOMAS SCOTT), VICTORIA (AMELIA HEINLE), AND NICK (JOSHUA MORROW).
Victor would not be able to play the “I’m a poor, orphan, and everything I do is for my family, so you have no right to judge me about anything ever.” Because even Victor’s sad childhood and devotion to family wouldn’t be able to overcome HIM SLAUGHTERING A WOMAN AND HER TWO CHILDREN IN COLD BLOOD.
Shout It Out
We are sorry for shouting. But the above is so obvious, we don’t understand why Phyllis — deluded, crazy, irrational Phyllis — is the only person who can see the obvious? Not only has YR made Phyllis talk sense, but they are also making us root for her!
