Last week on The Young and the Restless, Lily asked Victor to team up with her. She only had one thing she wanted…to run Abbott-Chancellor. Of course, Victor had already promised that to Nikki. Victor failed to tell her, and they agreed to work together. Of course, this week, Nikki and Victor realized that Lily wanted the same job Victor promised Nikki, so they decided she’d have to take or leave their offer. Here’s why Lily is making a mistake.
Of course, when Victor (Eric Braeden — who surprised fans recently) called Lily (Christel Khalil) into his office and found Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) there, she realized something was up. Recently, Lily turned down working with Devon (Bryton James) at Winters to stick with Chancellor before Billy (Jason Thompson) turned it into Abbott-Chancellor.
That move seemed like it failed because Billy quickly fired Lily when he decided he didn’t trust her. It didn’t take Lily too long to find Victor and propose they team up to take down “Billy Boy.” All she wanted was precisely what Victor couldn’t give her — her place back as CEO of Chancellor.

Instead of telling her the truth, Victor let Lily believe they had a deal. After she moved forward with that in mind, Victor called her into that meeting with Nikki to let her know the deal wasn’t quite what she thought it was. When is a deal EVER what somebody thought it was when Victor is involved?
Lily is smart, and she should have suspected that. Yes, Victor thought the world of Neil (Kristoff St. John), but he didn’t value Neil more than his family. Will Victor find a compromise that makes both Lily and Nikki happy? We don’t see it happening. Both women seem set on being CEO of Chancellor. We’re not sure co-CEO will cut it for either one.
Lily should have known that teaming up with Victor was a mistake, but she did it anyway. Does she have some other plan in the works? If it involves double-crossing Victor, that isn’t a great move either. What do you think? Has Lily made a big mistake? Tell us about it in the comments below.
