Ashley seemed set to kill Tucker on the May 21 episode of The Young and the Restless. Well, maybe not Ashley. One of the personalities living in her head. So let’s say that…Ashley’s body is all set to kill Tucker. But we know nothing is ever that straightforward in Genoa City. Sure, Tucker has been itching for a killing since he first popped back into town. But it seems like there could be more than one person who wants to see Tucker dead. Will Ashley have some competition?
Audra (Zuleyka Silver) is not an Abbott. She’s not a Newman. She’s not a Chancellor. She’s a total stranger. Which means she’ll have nobody in her corner if the finger of the law is pointed at her. She said she was through with him, but is she really? Perhaps she’ll want some revenge. Either that, or the real killer will point to her.
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) will claim that Audra was jealous that Tucker (Trevor St. John) still loved Ashley. Kyle (Michael Mealor) will say that Audra is a gold-digger who only wanted Tucker’s money and power. Victor (Eric Braeden) will smirk and say jail is no less than what she deserved for daring to miscarry a Newman heir. (Yeah, Audra was Noah’s [Rory Gibson] London girlfriend, does anyone still remember that?) Now maybe Nate (Sean Dominic) will step up to say a few words on her behalf. But no one listens to him, either.
Devon (Bryton James) and Tucker have always had a complicated relationship. Devon finally went to his biological father for some business help but quickly changed his mind before going too far.
Still, he’ll have a hard time convincing the cops he didn’t kill Dear Old Dad not just to put their toxic relationship to an end but also to inherit enough money to fight off Jill (Jess Walton) and Billy (Jason Thompson) taking over his company.
Because, no matter what a good game he talks, it’s hard to imagine Billy taking matters into his own hands and making it harder for Devon to fight him. Just like it’s hard to imagine Abby (Melissa Ordway) deciding to free both her mother and her partner from Tucker’s evil influence. Though both can be red herrings to distract the cops (are there still cops in Genoa City?) from the real culprit.
Of course, there is always the possibility that Ashley — who’s life is in danger — will do what Ashley’s inner monologue said she was going to do, and knock off Tucker. She’ll even have her handy insanity excuse, and then it will be no harm, no foul. Leaving us to ask, what was the point of any of this? What do you think? Will Tucker die? If so, who will do it?
