Traci has always been the good Abbott sibling on The Young and the Restless, which is why she’s the one that’s always been taken for granted. She got the chance to run Jabot for a few weeks several years ago. She liked it. She wanted to keep doing it. But when her brothers and sister went back to fighting over the company, they never even considered Traci to be a contender, which is when she had enough—and vowed to strike back. On the June 7 episode, Martin, Alan’s psychopathic twin brother, died…but did he really? And here’s why Traci may have helped him.
Little Brother
Billy (Jason Thompson) is the easiest Abbott to manipulate. Even easier than Traci (Beth Maitland). His sudden urge to add Abbott to the Chancellor-Winters company name seemed to come out of nowhere. It makes no sense.
Unless you consider that Traci goaded him into it, they can easily be having conversations off-screen that we’re not privy to. She could have easily made Billy feel he has no role at Jabot. His only chance to get himself noticed is by throwing Jill’s (Jess Walton) weight around at Chancellor-Winters. He’ll burn his bridges there, and there won’t be any room for him to return to Jabot because…
Big Brother
…Because Traci will have poisoned the well there, too. Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) out of nowhere about-face regarding Diane’s (Susan Walters) role at Jabot feels as random as Billy’s recent behavior. Traci is behind that, as well. She’s convinced Kyle that neither Diane nor Jack (Peter Bergman) respect him. Which, frankly, is true. Kyle was just too dumb to notice. Now that Traci has pointed it out, he is going to do some serious damage at Jabot. Which will happen on Jack and Diane’s watch. Which means they’ll be blamed for it by the board. And voted out as retribution.
Sister of Mine
Finally, there’s Ashley (Eileen Davidson). Ashley is losing her mind, thanks to her crazy shrink, whom Traci brought to Genoa City. Traci is acting shocked about Alan (Christopher Cousins) and Martin and whatever other crazy pops out of that situation. But we suspect she knew it all along. She made it happen.
Did Traci also help cover up that Alan really died instead of Martin when the two went over the balcony? It seems decidedly un-Traci-like, but perhaps? It seems quite likely that Martin could have survived, leaving Alan dead.
One and Done
With Ashley off her rocker, Jack and Diane in the Jabot doghouse, Kyle a confused child, and Billy an obvious screw-up wherever he works, Traci is the only logical person to step up and run Jabot. Just like she should have been from the beginning.
Does this seem plausible to you? Traci is masterminding the downfall of the rest of her family. Let us know in the comments below.
