It was the best and worst of times for worried parents Adam and Chelsea on the June 26 episode of The Young and the Restless. They were on top of the world after a successful outing with Connor, but it all came crashing down.
Highs and Lows
It for sure looks like Y&R is setting up an Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) reunion. These two were about to pop the bubbly after they had an excellent day out with Connor (Judah Mackey). Of course, Dr. Hammond’s (Nancy De Mayo) visit brought all that crashing down and sent them spiraling into despair.
They learned Connor had been moved to an inpatient wing because he’d tried to hurt himself. Of course, Dr. Hammond stopped by their hotel room to tell them, which seemed a little weird and made us wonder if the facility is truly on the up and up. Connor did really talk the place up to his parents, though.
After the doctor left their room, Chelsea cried, and Adam comforted her. We can see this leading to a reunion for these two, which would leave Sally (Courtney Hope) and Billy (Jason Thompson) out in the cold. But Billy may end up reuniting with Lily (Christel Khalil) since she’s single, and they seem to be having good conversations lately (never mind that she’s trying to double-cross him).
Ultimately, it seems like Connor’s little crisis is just the latest in the storyline that will finally bring Adam and Chelsea back together as a couple. What if, though, it’s a soapier storyline where the facility is truly the problem and is making the patients worse in order to milk more money out of their families? Which would you rather it be?
