Sharon is slowly losing her grip on The Young and the Restless. Talking about Cassie, remembering how she died — and some issues with her bipolar medication — have put her mental health at risk. But Sharon isn’t the only one in danger because of it. Lucy and Daniel might also be in trouble, and the July 22 episode of Y&R moved this possible storyline forward.
Always Something There To Remind Me
Sharon (Sharon Case) was doing OK. Even though she and Nick (Joshua Morrow) are no longer together. Even though Sharon’s most recent husband, Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), died. Even though she was stalked by a psycho who ended up leaving her a company to run way, way outside of her pay grade. Even though her daughter, Faith (Reylynn Caster), is off to college, Sharon is now an empty-nester.
But then Daniel (Michael Graziadei) came back to town, followed by his daughter Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant). Sharon’s strength seemed to shatter.
Way Back Machine
We don’t blame her for it. Daniel is a daily reminder of Cassie’s (Camryn Grimes) death. The daughter Sharon lost and found and lost again. This time for good.
With Noah living in Europe, Faith in college, and Mariah…off-screen a lot, Sharon has no children left at home to distract her. This means she can’t stop herself from thinking about Cassie and remembering the man whom the law forgave for Cassie’s death, but Sharon has always blamed…whether or not it’s rational.
What’s Good for the Goose
Sharon wants to make Daniel feel at least some of the pain that she is currently feeling and has been feeling for twenty years. She wants Daniel to lose someone as important to him as Cassie was to Sharon.
There is only one person who fits that bill: Daniel’s precious daughter, Lucy. As if fate conspired to make Sharon’s darkest dreams come true, Lucy attached herself to Faith. Now Lucy is tagging along with Faith to a pool party…well, maybe, since Faith told her she wasn’t invited, but she seems to be dead set on crashing. (Could Lucy be taking after her grandmas?)
Daniel and Heather (Vail Bloom) wanted their daughter to avoid drinking and hanging out with older boys. They told her to watch out for bad kids. But they didn’t want her about a friendly mom, and that could come back to bite them.
What do you think? Will Sharon do something to Lucy? Let us know in the comments below.
