On the April 16 episode of The Young and the Restless, Claire’s phone sent a text to Kyle and Summer, noting she had Harrison and demanding they help Jordan escape. While Summer is convinced Claire is involved, Kyle desperately hopes (along with the rest of the Newmans) that Jordan is behind the whole thing, which means Harrison has an ally. One thing seems certain, this scary event will end up exposing the little boy’s years of trauma…Harrison may end up taking after his Aunt Ashley.

New York State of Mind

We’ve been feeling sorry for Harrison (Redding Munsell, who just took over the role) for almost two years now. Try to see it from his point of view. You’re a happy-go-lucky pre-schooler — with a gorgeous head of angelic curls — living your happy, pampered, privileged New York City. You have a mother, a father, a nanny, and a slate full of enriching educational activities to help get you into one of the top kindergartens in Manhattan. Everything is going great. And then…

Change of Scene

Mommy, Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner), brings you to a new city, in a new state. You move in with some total strangers, but it’s not too bad. They have a pool. And whenever they don’t want you to hear what they’re talking about, they send you to the kitchen for cookies. So a win-win! Your father doesn’t live with you anymore, but he comes to visit, and he brings you expensive gifts. Still winning!

Then, Mommy tells you that you should call one of the strangers Daddy. OK, you shrug. The world doesn’t mean much to you. You could be calling Kyle (Michael Mealor) “blender,” or “lamp,” for all it matters.

Out of the Picture

But then Mommy goes away. Nobody explains where or why. You wait for Father, Ashland Locke (Robert Newman — did you know this about him?), to come pick you up and take you home. But that doesn’t happen. Instead, this Daddy guy introduces you to another strange lady, Summer (Allison Lanier), and tells you to call her Mommy. She’s not your Mommy, but you are trying to be good, so that these people will let you go home to your real Mommy.

What do you think? Post a comment!

Instead of taking you home, though, this impostor, Mommy and Daddy, take you to yet another place WHERE THEY DON’T EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH. They let you visit your Father once in a while, but then he disappears too!

Back To Before

Now you’re back at the house with the pool and the cookies (and servants who speak English). And then Fake Mommy moves out. Now it’s just you and Daddy. Even the nanny doesn’t stick around for long.

And then there’s the scary lady, Jordan (Colleen Zenk). She moves you to yet another location. You’re used to that by now. She tells you that nobody wants you anymore. You’re kind of used to that, too. But you’re still being a good boy. You still think you’re being punished for something. Maybe if you’re good, though, the scary lady will take you back to your real mommy.

And then this whole thing that started when you left New York will finally be over like a bad dream. If not, you just might finally explode and let everyone know what you’re been keeping deep down inside. First, they took your Mommy, then your father, and then your gorgeous curls. You don’t have a lot left. And if you’re going to be miserable, you’re going to make sure everyone around is equally miserable. After all, if it’s good enough for that Connor (Judah Mackey) kid, why can’t you make your whiny demands the center of attention, too?
