As Hunter King continues her transition from The Young and the Restless’ Summer to Hallmark Channel starlet, her latest Christmas film Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story may just be her biggest yet.
Love And Football
Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story is loosely inspired by the real-life romance between Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce. Hallmark Channel’s take centers around Alana (King), whose family exists thanks to a shared love of the Chiefs. When she enters to be the team’s fan of the year, Alana must find ways of warming up to Derrick (Tyler Hynes), the Director of Fan Engagement, and convince him that her family are the Chiefs’ number one fans.

Review
While the flick follows many Hallmark Christmas movie traditions like baking cookies and strolling through a festive town, its Chiefs fandom side of the story was a unique take on a holiday romcom. King shined as the football fangirl, instantly turning into the Taylor Swift of Hallmark.
Decked out in red and yellow, this film will certainly please any and all Chiefs fans with its KC merch, shots of Arrowhead Stadium, and cameos from players Trey Smith, Mecole Hardman Jr., Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and George Karlaftis, as well as Coach Andy Reid and The Kelces’ mother, Donna Kelce.
The only thing that felt off about the film was that the Chief’s Director of Fan Engagement wasn’t a Chiefs fan himself. Sure, it adds to the lighthearted drama of the film, but the person judging a fan contest being less than enthusiastic about the Chiefs fandom simply felt unrealistic.
