There’s no denying that Victor is the heart and soul of The Young and the Restless. It’s hard to imagine Genoa City without the powerful businessman and Newman patriarch. But could The Newmans and fans be facing a future without The Moustache?
The End For Victor?
Victor (Eric Braeden) has been a vital part of Y&R for 45 years. The billionaire has asserted his dominance in Genoa City’s business district while raising a family with his darling wife Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott).
Victor and Nikki are one of the show’s most adored couples. Despite their ups and downs, the couple is still in love as ever. Recently, Nikki surprised her husband with a romantic dinner and gifts. Throughout the evening, the two reminisced and later shared a slow dance. It was a beautiful scene that tugged at the audience’s heartstrings.
However, it also left a few fans worried.
On Reddit, fans expressed their concern that the recent scenes mean Victor’s time is coming to an end.
“There have been more sentimental moments going on that are nice, but they seem out of place,” wrote one viewer.
“I dread him leaving. The show will never be the same without him,” another fan replied.
“It will hit me in the feels if Victor retires or passes away, man…I couldn’t handle it,” a worried fan wrote.
For years, there’s been rumors about Braeden’s possible retirement, but the actor has debunked the reports. In a 2024 interview with TV Insider, he reiterated that he’s not slowing down anytime soon. “I will not, I don’t want to,” he declared.
Braeden is still going strong on Y&R as Victor prepares to do battle with Cane (Billy Flynn). Victor’s going to have a tough fight against Cane, but with Nikki and his family’s support, he’s determined to win this war.
