Cane is trying to salvage his relationship with his kids on The Young and the Restless. The Aristotle Dumas debacle has Charlie and Mattie giving their dad the cold shoulder. But are they going overboard with their behavior?
Forgive and Forget
In the six years that Cane (Billy Flynn) was absent, he secretly amassed a billion dollar empire. Hiding under the alias Aristotle Dumas, Cane became a successful businessman who had all of Genoa City intrigued.
When Cane was finally revealed as Dumas, it left many people, including his ex-wife Lily (Christel Khalil), angry. But Lily isn’t the only family member who’s furious. His kids Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie (Lexi Stevenson) are upset and don’t want anything to do with him.
Charlie and Mattie’s reaction has perplexed fans on Reddit, who believe the twins should cut their dad some slack.
”I would be proud of my dad if he found success and made our future better. Who gives a F if he pretended to be someone else,” declared one fan.
”HAHA, you are 100% right! I would be loving it if I were them. They are set for life if they make nice with dad,” one viewer replied.
”It’s all so stupid. Nobody is going to freak out and block their father because they just found out he’s a billionaire,” one user responded.
Charlie and Mattie’s attitude toward Cane might change after his latest decision. Cane decided to halt his plan to take over Genoa City businesses to focus on his family.
Seeing Cane turn over a new leaf might soften Lily’s feelings, and she could help repair the twins’ relationship with their dad. However, Cane’s path to reuniting with Lily and his kids might be derailed if Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) moves forward with the plan without him.
