Confirmation of Justin Hartley’s departure from The Young and the Restless left viewers shell-shocked. Sure, the cabin he was in blew up, but fans couldn’t help but hope that Adam had somehow escaped.
However, Hartley’s heartfelt message to fans about his exit made those hopes crash and burn.
While we may no longer be able to watch Hartley as Adam, we can still see plenty of the popular actor elsewhere. You already know he’s starring on primetime every week on NBC’s new series, This Is Us. Now comes word that he’s shot a new film that also stars his real-life fiancée Chrishell Stause (Y&R’s Bethany).
Together Again
The adorable couple has teamed up for the indie film Another Time. According to producer Alan Pietruszewski, who spoke exclusively with Soap Hub, it’s a drama with a sci-fi twist.
“It’s a story about the choices we make and the places they lead us. We seldom end up where we thought we were going, but somehow end up where we belong.”
In it, Hartley plays Eric Laziter, a man who thinks he knows what he wants, but the path to getting it has tremendous challenges. Stause portrays Julia Practor, a woman Eric is paired with at work by his boss, Ben, who is played by former Days of Our Lives star, Mark Valley (ex-Jack).
On the Set
Pietruszewski, who, like director Thomas Hennessy, served in the US Navy (Hennessy also wrote with Scott Kennard), shared what it’s like to work with Hartley and Stause.
“He is an absolute professional and was a real joy to work with. I acted as well [in the film he plays Dr. Goyer], and an entire week of filming was just me and Justin on set. So I got to interact closely with him as both a producer and a fellow actor. I had to step up my game to keep up with him. We were in Joshua Tree on location that week, so Thomas and I got to know Justin very personally; he is as impressive in the real world as he is on screen.
“And of course, now they are engaged so it was special to see them working together.”
Mark Valley also had some kind words to share about working with Hartley: “I enjoyed working with Justin, likely from his daytime experience, his facility with dialogue leaves him available to listen and react intuitively. He’s a talent to keep an eye on.”
They are just now finishing post-production on the film and beginning to look for a distributor. You can view the new trailer below. Soap Hub will let you know when there is more information.
