The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden showed fans a scary look at the Los Angeles fire burning near his house yesterday. All day, they’ve wondered how he was doing, and now the actor who portrays Victor Newman has provided a sad update.
Evacuation
Braeden took to Instagram to share a short update on his situation. In a video, he said, “Well, we’re going to have to evacuate our house.”
As he panned his camera toward the fires that were very near, he said, “Everyone I see this beautiful area up in flames. Unbelievable.
Despite the terribleness of the situation, Braeden ended his short clip with a positive message. God bless you all. Be cool. Bye.”
Fans quickly responded to Braeden’s post with support and well wishes amid the terrible situation.
Braeden is not the only soap star who has had to evacuate his home. Sadly, General Hospital star Cameron Mathison tragically lost his home to the fire, but thankfully his family is okay.
Throughout the day, many others connected to the soap opera and entertainment industry have provided updates about homes. Several cast and crew members have evacuated, and others have sadly lost everything to the raging fire.
AP News reported that at least five have died from the California wildfire that is raging in Los Angeles. Additionally, more than 1,000 structures have burned in this fire. At least 100,000 residents in the area are under evacuation orders.
Currently, there are three separate fires in the region. The Palisades fire, west of Los Angeles; the Eaton fire, north of Pasadena; and the Hurst fire, in the San Fernando Valley. The strong Santa Ana winds combined with extreme drought conditions have caused these to spread rapidly.
