The Young and the Restless star Eric Braden gave his fans a big scare with a video he posted on Instagram. Braeden shared a video taken of his backyard as the latest wildfires spread in California. The fire appeared to come dangerously close to his home, and fans wondered if the actor was waiting it out or evacuating.

Worst Wildfire ‘EVER’ in Los Angeles
Braeden (Victor) posted a short video on Instagram on January 7 that showed the view from the patio at the back of his house. He wrote, “Behind my house! The worst EVER in LA!”
The angle of the video appeared to show the flames of the wildfire creeping up toward Braeden’s home. The fire was across the backyard pool, and what appeared to be a fence in Braeden’s yard seemed to be very close to the home.
The Y&R star did not share anything regarding evacuating the home and has not provided any updates since then. Fans and fellow soap opera stars flooded the comment section of Braeden’s post as they reacted to the unsettling video.
Greg Rikaart wrote, “Thinking about you and your family, Eric, and hoping you’re all safe.”
General Hospital star Maurice Benard (Sonny) commented, “That’s terrible Eric you OK.”
Braeden replied to Benard, “hello, MAURICE, nice to hear from you! I’ll know tomorrow [if] we still have a house!”
Lauralee Bell (Christine) commented with a note urging Braeden to “Be safe!” and Melissa Ordway (Abby) wrote, “Oh my gosh. Eric. Thinking of you and praying. Love you.”
Several fans commented with notes of concern that Braden had not evacuated.
“Oh my gosh Eric I think it’s time to go somewhere safe. I’m praying for all of you,” one fan wrote.
Another added, “Eric, please get to safety!”
Someone else who urged Braeden to evacuate pointed out, “The wind is so unpredictable,” suggesting the fire could shift to move closer to his house at any moment.
