The Young and the Restless is getting two new cast members. Ptosha Storey (Empire) and Leigh-Ann Rose (Younger) are coming to Genoa City later this month.

The Young and the Restless Adds To Cast

Numerous outlets are reporting that Storey and Benedict will be making their YR debuts on Thursday, December 24. Storey is playing Naya Benedict; Rose is playing Imani Benedict.

Storey teased that she’d landed a new gig on her official Instagram account. “Great day on the set of my next project! Grateful to be working in spite of this Covid -19 season. Can’t wait to share this one! 🎬,” she posted. “#actorslife #setlife #staysafe #staywell #Blessed.”

Rose’s other credits include: I’m Not Him, Baking Christmas, Scorpion, Law & Order: SVU, and Famous Farrah. Storey’s other credits include Strong Medicine, Numb3rs, Choices, All Day and a Night, Tyler Perry’s Acrimony, If Loving You Is Wrong, The Soul Man, and Moesha, On Empire, Storey played the recurring role of Chyna.

Famous alumni from The Young and the Restless include David Hasselhoff (ex-Snapper), Eva Longoria (ex-Isabella), Tom Selleck (ex-Jed), Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm), and Monica Potter (ex-Sharon).

Over the years, the show has dealt with many topical issues including breast cancer, bullying, alcoholism, HIV/AIDS, illiteracy, and more. The Abbotts, the Newmans, the Fosters, the Brooks, the Winters, and the Rosales clans have comprised the show’s main families over the years.

YR debuted on March 26, 1973. The series was created by the late William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell. Last June, the CBS soap won its 11th Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series. The show recently celebrated its 12,000th episode. Fan favorites Jess Walton (Jill) and Tricia Cast (Nina) returned to the show for the occasion, which coincided with Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Chance’s (Justin Gaston; Donny Boaz) wedding. Tony Morina is the show’s executive producer. Josh Griffith is the head writer/co-executive producer. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
