Edward J. Scott and Melody Thomas Scott Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at Daytime Emmys

Edward J. Scott, Supervising Producer, Bold and the Beautiful and his wife, Melody Thomas Scott, who plays Nikki on Young and the Restless, are being honored for their respective careers. They are receiving the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Awards in June.

And the Daytime Emmy Goes To

“We’ve long wanted to honor the legendary daytime duo of Melody Thomas Scott and her husband Edward J. Scott,” said Adam Sharp, president and CEO, National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), says. “With a combined 93 years of contributions to our community, they are true institutions in the world of Daytime television.”

“We are honored and humbled to receive this recognition from NATAS,” the husband and wife, producer/actress, said in a joint statement. “Throughout our decades-long careers in front of and behind the cameras, we have had the opportunity to work not only with each other, but also with an incredibly talented pool of people who excel in their crafts and are passionate about the art we create in daytime television. We are grateful to have worked side by side with them and to be included with such esteemed recipients who have made their mark in our industry. We look forward to spending another wonderful evening celebrating the Daytime community!”

Scott and Thomas Scott met at Y&R when he was one of the show’s producers and she was playing, of course, her iconic role as Nikki Reed Newman. The pair wed in 1985. Scott has also served as co-executive producer of Days of our Lives.

Also being honored at this year’s Daytime Emmys (at the Creative Arts non-televised ceremony) is Lidia Bastianich of Lidia’s Kitchen. Soap Hub sends heartfelt congratulations to Scott and Thomas Scott, and Bastianich on their Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Awards.

The 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will air on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 8 p.m. on CBS and will stream on Paramount+.
