Why Diane Is The Cause Of Kyle’s Problems On Young and the Restless

Kyle can’t escape his mother’s shadow. That’s because she’s always haunting him. Most of Kyle’s problems started after Diane returned from the dead on The Young and the Restless. He became the sneaky and scheming version of himself when he started hating his own mother.

Kyle (Michael Mealor) has a complicated relationship with his mother. He wasn’t sure what to think about Diane (Susan Walters) returning from the dead. At first, he was just happy to have his mother back. However, Diane’s return caused tensions to rise in Kyle’s marriage.

She was the reason he divorced Summer (Allison Lanier). Their moms were on opposing sides. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) couldn’t trust Diane’s motives, especially since she had been in hiding all this time. Summer sided with her mom, while Kyle sided with his. 

He was shocked to learn that Phyllis had staged her own murder plot, which caused a great divide between him and the love of his life. Summer was caught in the middle of the drama because she would side with her mom, no matter what.

It’s Personal, Not Business

Kyle hasn’t had much luck in his personal or professional life. His career is in limbo because of his ongoing feud with his mom. He lost his position with Glissade. He found out that Diane snatched it out from underneath him.

Kyle’s hatred for his mom led to his descent. Diane has caused nothing but chaos in her son’s life. She even ruined Kyle’s relationship with Jack (Peter Bergman), which remained solid until recently. 

Diane needs a reality check. She should take accountability for the pain and hurt she’s caused her son. Arguably, Kyle has always been entitled and self-absorbed. But Diane’s presence increased his present issues. (Could Kyle seek revenge with Jordan?)
