On the January 22 episode of The Young and the Restless, the Newmans looked like they really might lose their family company. Cane, Phyllis, and even Billy seem to believe it’s a done deal. But remember, Victor is always the smartest person in the room. He has a plan up his sleeve. One nobody will see coming!

Key Takeaways

  • Victor gives up Newman.
  • Victor turns over a new leaf.
  • Victor wins.

Surrender, Dorothy

What if Victor (Eric Braeden) throws up his hands in defeat? What if Victor lets Cane (Billy Flynn) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) take over Newman Enterprises and hands Chancellor Industries over to Billy (Jason Thompson)? What if Victor walks away from the company he personally built with his own, bare, manly hands?

What will Victor do next? Here is what he could do next.

Pot Calling the Kettle Black

You know how the real world is full of filthy rich people who made their money by exploiting the poor, who go around explaining how awful filthy rich people who made their money by exploiting the poor are, and work for government regulations to keep other people from becoming filthy rich by exploiting the poor now that they’re already filthy rich from exploiting the poor?

What if Victor becomes one of those? He will renounce his money (while leaving personal billions in the bank — you don’t expect Nikki [Melody Thomas Scott] to dress in clothes off the rack, do you?), and he will become a do-gooder, supporting all sorts of rules and regulations that shut down the businesses of evil exploiters… like Jack (Peter Bergman). And Cane (Billy Flynn).

Burn It All Down

Victor will work tirelessly until public opinion and government regulation strip Jack and Cane of their ill-gotten gains, and he will do it all for the little people. After all, Victor is one of the little people. Did he ever mention being left in an orphanage as a child?

Then, once Jack and Cane have lost everything, Victor will swoop in and buy up what’s left. And he will be on top again. And they will be on the bottom, like they always should be. Winning! Victor!
