Victor had more orders for Michael on the April 3 episode of The Young and the Restless. Meanwhile, Lauren was telling Nikki that she’s worried about her husband — and what Victor is making him do. Nikki reminded Michael that he doesn’t have to work for Victor. He can quit. (Oh, if only Nikki ever took her own advice.) Michael swore that he felt obliged to protect Victor. He can’t quit! Nikki believed him. Us…not so much. Here’s what we think — hope! — is really happening:

Down the Chute

What if, instead of helping to prop up Victor (Eric Braeden), Michael is actually working to bring the mogul down once and for all? If Michael hadn’t known that Victor was a horrible human being, finding Jordan (Colleen Zenk) locked up in his basement — not the first prisoner he’s kept there — should have confirmed every suspicion he’s ever had. But Michael already knew that. And he didn’t mind doing Victor’s dirty work for him.

However, when Michael, once again, risked his own career to protect Victor by freeing Jordan, and Victor WAS FURIOUS WITH HIM when Victor ordered Michael to APOLOGIZE FOR PUTTING VICTOR FIRST, that’s when Michael must have realized the man needed to be stopped. And Michael was the only one capable of getting that particular dirty job done.

If You’re Not With Us, You’re Against Us

Michael told Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) the truth: He can’t leave Victor’s employee. But it wasn’t because he needed to protect the great man at all costs. It’s because he is, slowly but surely, putting into place all the pieces necessary to make sure Victor is defeated.

It might be via Aristotle Dumas. It might be via Tucker (Trevor St. John). Heck, it might be via Damian (Jermaine Rivers) and Holden (Nate Owens). How awesome would it be if Michael is Dumas! And if he ends up having the last laugh? It couldn’t happen to a better Victor.
