Chene’ Lawson, who originated the role of Yolanda Hamilton on The Young and the Restless, is coming back to Genoa City. The actress last appeared on the show in 2006.
Chene’ Lawson Is Back on The Young and the Restless
Lawson’s stint on Y&R will begin on Friday, May 5. The actress is set to appear for several episodes. As veteran Y&R fans recall, Devon (Bryton James) was reunited with his birth mother back in 2005. The reunion didn’t last long, however. Yolanda made a play for Neil (the late Kristoff St. John) and soon left town.
The character of Yolanda returned in 2011. Soap hopper and Daytime Emmy-winner Debbi Morgan (ex-Dr. Angie Hubbard, All My Children) took over the role, and it was revealed then that she was going by the name Harmony.
Morgan’s stint also lasted about a year, and the character hasn’t been seen since. No word on what will bring Yolanda back to town. Since exiting Y&R about 17 years ago, Lawson has gone on to create and play the lead in the scripted podcast series All Things Undone. The show is a 2023 Webby Award winner. Check out this link on how to listen to All Things Undone.
This marks the first time in a while that both of Devon’s biological parents — Yolanda and Tucker (Trevor St. John) — have been on the show at the same time.
