On the Thursday, December 26 episode of The Young and the Restless, Chance asked Summer if he could drop off a Christmas gift for Harrison, even though the adults are “on a break.” As Chance and Summer chatted about her stepson’s holiday, nobody said a word about Dominic, the boy who is technically still Chance’s legal child.
Dominic Has Lots of Mommies…and Daddies
For those who need a refresher, Dominic is the biological child of Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Devon (Bryton James), who was carried and birthed by his surrogate mother, Mariah (Camryn Grimes), and registered as the legal son of Chance (Conner Floyd). The original plan was that Mariah would be the incubator, Devon would only be a sperm donor for his pal, Abby, and Abby and Chance would be Dominic’s real parents. But then things went awry.

Mariah was kidnapped and bonded with her baby “Bowie.” Devon found himself drawn to the boy, especially while Chance was missing, presumed dead. By the time Chance returned, Abby and he tried to give the marriage and family thing a try. But then Abby and Devon had magic sex all over his apartment. Which Chance—and Devon’s then-girlfriend, Amanda (Mishael Morgan)—walked in on.

Abby and Chance split up, but he insisted he would still be a part of Dominic’s life and would periodically show up to pick the boy up—mostly to piss off Abby and Devon. When Chance and Summer (Allison Lanier) first started dating, they both talked about how attached they were to their respective stepchildren, Dominic and Harrison (Redding Munsell).
But while Summer continues to remind Claire (Hayley Erin) that Harrison is “my son,” Chance hasn’t mentioned Dominic in forever. Now that Abby and Devon are married—with Dominic as ring-bearer—has Chance been cut out completely? And is he OK with it? We’d like to know.
