Beautiful inside and out — former General Hospital star and currently The Young and the Restless’s Elena Brytni Sarpy proves that with her grace and style. Over the weekend, the actress shared her gratitude for the opportunity to attend an amazing event that supports research for Parkinson’s and explained why the opportunity means so much to her.

Saturday night’s DesignCare Gala was hosted by the forces behind the HollyRod Foundation — actress Holly Robinson Peete and her husband, former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete. It supports Autism and Parkinson’s and was held at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu, California. Eva Longoria (ex-Isabella, Y&R) received their Humanitarian Award.

Sarpy shared a gorgeous shot of herself on Instagram from the event and opened up about how attending the gala touches her heart and why.

“Attending @hollyrodfdn is a huge highlight of my year, I am so inspired by all that they do- by bringing awareness to, raising money for, and offering support to those suffering from Parkinson’s disease and families and individuals affected by Autism,” she wrote.

“1 in 60 children are diagnosed with Autism, and over a million people in the US alone suffer from Parkinson’s disease. As many of you know my father is one of the heroes who deals with the pain, depression, and altered lifestyle of battling such a challenging disease.” It’s a disease that’s hard on the person — and their caregivers.

“This gala touches my heart every time 🖤 thank you @hollyrpeete for having me… please look into the amazing work @hollyrodfdn is doing, if you feel moved to do so.” You can find out more by visiting their website.
