Edward J. Scott, husband of The Young and the Restless star Melody Thomas Scott, will return to the soap as a senior producer. He’s been at The Bold and the Beautiful for 14 years.
Deadline reported that Scott will make the trip through the hallways from B&B to Y&R. A six-time Daytime Emmy winner, he’ll serve under Y&R head writer and executive producer Josh Griffith. He earned five for his work on Y&R and one for his work on B&B.
Previously, Scott joined Y&R in 1976, moving up, becoming the soap’s executive producer until 2007. After his work at Y&R, Scott joined Days of our Lives for a short stint from 2007-2008, earning the soap a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series. He went to B&B in 2010 as a supervising producer, and he’s been there ever since.
This past June, Soap Hub reported that Edward J. Scott and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) received joint Lifetime Achievement Awards at the Daytime Emmys (marking his seventh statue). You can check out the tribute to this powerhouse soap opera couple below.
So far, there’s no news on who will take over for Scott at B&B. Soap Hub will bring you the latest details as we learn them. What do you hope he does when he returns to Y&R? Let us know in the comments below.
