The Young and the Restless celebrated 12,000 episodes this week with the core Genoa City families coming together for a very special occasion — Chance and Abby’s wedding, taking place in the Chancellor living room where so many weddings have been held before.
Take A Tour With Melissa Ordway
Now, Melissa Ordway, who plays Abby Newman Chancellor, went behind the scenes when the episode was taped and offered a few little tidbits about what took place. We see her driving to work with no makeup, as well as grabbing a little rest in Abby’s unique wedding gown on the Chancellor mansion staircase.
We see the actors in their masks, as the show keeps things COVID-safe so people can work and do so without constant fear. Ordway takes her mask off to sit in the makeup chair and become a beautiful bride. We even see Ordway and husband, Justin Gaston, who is playing Chance temporarily, get their regular COVID tests. Frequent COVID testing is what helps keep all four soaps going.
With herself and Gaston on camera, Ordway expressed her excitement about their daughters seeing Mommy and Daddy getting married on TV, with Gaston telling us that Mom lets the little girls watch soaps. Later, we see the whole family as the newly-married on-screen couple got home to their off-screen lives. Sophie and Olivia are all smiles as the little family bids us farewell.
