The Young and the Restless alum Shemar Moore has starred as Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson for eight seasons, but S.W.A.T. will be taking its last bow in Mat. This decision will not be reversed, apparently.
Case Closed
CBS canceled the show in May 2023 but reversed the decision days later, calling season seven its last. A year later, in May 2024, the show was unexpectedly renewed for season eight. Over the past two years, Sony Pictures Television secured last-minute renewals for S.W.A.T. by negotiating favorable financial terms with CBS.
However, this time, CBS reportedly chose not to enter renewal discussions, deciding to conclude the series for good. The series lead, Moore, fought hard for the show to be renewed each of the times it was canceled, urging fans to voice their displeasure with the decision.
This time around, Moore acknowledged this decision was final. He shared a video to Instagram and wrote, “SWAT IS CANCELED…. AGAIN!!! After 8 seasons… CANCELED… maybe this time for good!!! But my momma didn’t raise NO QUITTER!!! No Matter what, I AM GRATEFUL n THANKFUL!!! Almost 31 years in this game of Hollywood… JOURNEY OF A DREAMER!!! To my Homies, Fans, Baby Girls, SWAT CREW, and Hollywood…. I say THANK YOU!!!! And ‘FILL THE GAPS n STAY LIQUID… ROLL SWAT’!!!! 💜❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🦾🎬⭐️”
